I got this tag from my booktube obsession. I'm pretty obsessed with booktube, as a general sidenote. I highly recommend it, if you're bored. Or you know, if you're not. Anyway, this tag sounded like fun, so I figured I'd give it a try!
Phase 1: Initial Attraction
A book that you bought because of the cover?
Honestly, I've bought so many books because of the cover but I have to go with
Angelfall by Susan Ee
Phase 2: First Impressions
A book that you got because of the summary?
Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I'd heard a lot about the book from friends who had read it, but still didn't really understand what it was about. When I read the cover, I still didn't know what it was about, but I was SO intrigued.
Phase 3: Sweet Talk
A book with great writing?
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
MS has such a unique but captivating writing style. I love all of her books, but I particularly love The Scorpio Races. Ugh. Love.
Phase 4: First Date
A first book of a series which made you want to pick up the rest of the series?
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner.
I was just in love with this world and concept behind this book. I was so glad when they announced more books, and I loved the second one was well.
Phase 5: Late Night Phone Calls
A book that kept you up all night?
The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as Cuckoo's Calling, the first in the series. But it had me way more enthralled than Cuckoo's Calling. It was so dark and creepy and twisted that I just had to know, I couldn't stop.
Phase 6: Always on my mind
A book you could not stop thinking about?
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly.
I just could not stop thinking about this one, even after I read two, or three, or more books afterwards. I just kept returning to it. She had such a way of describing things that I've thought before, I was just in awe.
Phase 7: Getting Physical
A book which you love the way it feels?
All of the Penguin Classics. I just love the way those look and feel and I wish I had all of them; give them to me please.
Phase 8: Meeting the parents
A book which you would recommend to your family and friends?
This is hard because I usually recommend books based on the person, but I think universally speaking, I will always, always, always recommend
the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
Phase 9: Thinking about the future
A book or series you know you will re read many times in the future?
This is hard. I love to reread all my favorites. But I think one series that I have gone back to and expect to continue going back to (obviously we have to exclude HP here, because really it can apply to all categories. Ever.) is
Graceling by Kristin Cashore.
Phase 10: Share the love
Who do you tag?
I'm tagging anyone who liked this tag and wants to do it themselves :) It's pretty fun!
