Things to be Thankful for

It's that time of year again! Where it's Thanksgiving (here in the United States) where we all sit down with our families and friends and celebrate what we're thankful for. For me, it's the middle of fall and the beginning of the holiday season. It's also the most wonderful time of year. Basically.

Am I being a little dramatic, enthusiastic? Perhaps. But that's just the way it is. Don't bring me down.

With that being said, there are also so many BOOKISH things to be thankful for coming up (see that segue? Flawless). By the by, these are in air date order, not in order of my obsession, don't be fooled.

1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

This movie was just released. Yes I've seen it. Yes it was amazing. Yes you should get your Harry Potter loving self to the movies to watch it. Good talk.

Based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowling

2. A Series of Unfortunate Events (Jan 2017)

New Netflix series. Cannot contain my excitement. I liked the movie okay, from way back when. But, especially at how fantastic Stranger Things just was, ASOUE my expectations are now through the roof on this one. Through the roof.

Based on A Series of Unfortunate of Events series by Lemony Snicket

3. Beauty and the Beast (Mar 2017)

This was originally based on a book, so it counts. And it has Emma Watson in it, who was in Harry Potter, which was a book. Double count. Boom. My roommate would shake her head at this logic. Whatever, I start bouncing up and down when I think about this movie. This is a live action retelling of Beauty and the Beast, yes please! (Library scene???)

Based on all the different retellings of Beauty and the Beast that exist in print. I think the original was in French.

4. The Death Cure (Mar 2017)

The third book of the Maze Runner series. This movie will be coming out in March, and I'm actually excited, because to my knowledge they are NOT splitting it into two movies. Which has been a huge trend lately for movies where it isn't necessary (I'm looking at you Allegiant) plot-wise. I also really enjoyed this series and my brother and I will greatly appreciate seeing this movie come through as a finale!

Based on the Maze Runner series by James Dashner

5. Shadowhunters, season 2 (on Freeform)

Hey, season 1 wasn't the best show I've ever seen before, but was it entertaining? yes. Did I watch enough of it to want a season 2? yes. Was my wish fulfilled? why yes indeed. Rumor has it, season 2 is a little darker and little bolder. Sign me up.

Based on Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.

6. An Ember in the Ashes (2017)

SUPPOSEDLY this is going to RELEASE as a movie in 2017. I find this hard to believe as we are a month from 2017 and haven't heard any more from this. I will find it much more likely if it gets bumped to 2018 or even 2019, but I would very much freak out if it actually comes to pass. This was a big favorite of mine the year it was published.

Based on An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

7. Anne (2017)

Another Netflix original series that's really, really close to my heart. And if it's truly coming out in 2017, I will be really excited. Number 12 on this list will confirm all my hopes and dreams. I don't want to hear any naysaying about another Anne of Green Gables adaptation okay?? There have been like a 100 Sherlock Holmes adaptations and we all love Sherlock on BBC (including me), so what's one more Anne? Netflix agrees with me.

Based on Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery
